We call our system Lucid, because it's transparent, transportable and very fast and simple. Users have found it, for more than 5 years, to be an exceptionally easy and secure way to buy online. By contrast, most e-commerce systems are third-party, slow, cumbersome, as opaque as possible and designed to lock you into a solution provider. They are also "one size fits all" - if you're selling shirts with variable colourways sizes and prices, for example, you can end up with confused configurations (and some very bored customers).

We're secure, because Lucid doesn't store any personal information with orders - we use Paypal or Google Checkout to process credit card payments and don't enforce intrusive data collection on users. We'd prefer for people to enjoy (and feel comfortable about) purchasing from our sites, rather than fill out their personal details endless times, with all the inherent security risk and potential for junk emails.
